As part of the reconstruction of Slussen in the Swedish Stockholm, the complete lock system with quays is going to be rebuilt as a place where everyone will be interested in stopping to enjoy the new spaces and facilities and to have safe drinking water. Till 2025 the whole surrounding area is going to be renewed by installing new drainage canals, a new lock, quays and bridges. A gigantic, prestigious and primarily a challenging project, because the daily life of the vibrant city will still go on in which the inhabitant can keep on living and working. One of the building companies who is responsible for this project, is Skanska. For their sustainable solution, Baars received the order to build three modular container pontoons. They got their own names: Kalle, Polle and Nisse. They are specifically Skanska green coloured and are equipped with four single drum winches of 7 tonnes. Two of the pontoons have a work platform and one pontoon is provided with four spud legs of even 30 meters long. Naturally Baars engineers provided the installation in the port of Stockholm – a flawless and prosperous cooperation together with the Skanska employees.
Baars is proud to be part of this beautiful sustainable Slussen project in Stockholm, for which the container pontoons could be delivered in a short amount of time to everyone’s satisfaction.
