All over the world Baars is active for its delivery and rental of split hopper barge, pontoon and modular jackup. As a result, we know better than anyone that the facilities in many countries are less well organized than in the Netherlands. Romania has an extra special place for us, because some of our employees have their roots in this country and because our location Sliedrecht is a sister municipality of the Romanian city of Orãştie. All the reasons for contributing to a unique foundation that gives used Dutch garbage trucks a second life in Romania.
Seven years ago Stichting Stedenband donated the first garbage truck to Orãştie.
This year, the year in which the relationship between the two cities is exactly 15 years old, it was the turn of a second truck. The garbage truck has been in the service of the municipality of Sliedrecht, which together with the local participation has ensured that the garbage truck can now be driven to Romania by a Romanian driver. A project to which Baars has been happy to contribute as a sponsor!
