Large-scale renovation of dams and bridges is underway across France. Near Poses, west of Paris, Botte Fondations and Vinci Construction are strengthening the foundations of a bridge using grout injections, where cement mixtures are injected into the soil under high pressure to increase load-bearing capacity. For these water-based operations, multiple coupled modular pontoons are required: upstream, two drilling pontoons and two workshop pontoons are deployed.
Modular Pontoons for Precision Work
One of the work platforms in this project is Baars’ modular pontoon ‘Seine’ (21 x 10 meters). This modular pontoon is equipped with two bow elements, additional winches for repositioning, and sturdy railing. Thanks to this equipment, it is highly suitable for maintenance work on bridges and dams. Extra mooring winches ensure maximum stability and strength, allowing safe and controlled work on the water.
Inland Navigation Certificate and Immediate Deployment
In addition to delivering the pontoon, Baars also provides the required inland navigation certificate. This ensures that a complete and certified modular pontoon is delivered, ready for immediate use on site.
Trusted Choice,Reliable Equipment, Quickly Delivered
Baars and Vinci Construction have previously collaborated on major infrastructure projects in France. The pontoon ‘Seine’ is a fully equipped solution that can be delivered and made operational within a short timeframe. This way, Baars supports the renovation of the bridge foundations in Poses with reliable equipment and the assurance that the work can proceed safely and efficiently.
