Expanding port of Geneva by modular pontons Baars

If you want to sail, row or water-ski in Geneva, you can hardly avoid the ‘Société Nautique de Genève’. The well-known water sports association was founded in 1872 and has its own marina with no less than 1,000 mooring places. Yet that was not enough. That is why construction company Orllati Groupe was commissioned to create another 400 mooring places. This was the first major hydraulic engineering project for Orllati – so everything had to run smoothly. Baars could contribute to that!

Baars modular and mooring system

Orllati started the almost 3 year project with soil drilling in the lake area. After that the company focused on the breakwaters and mooring places. In order for this work to run smoothly, Baars supplied modular coupling pontoons: shuttle and dredging pontoons. In addition, Orllati rented mooring systems from us, with which the pontoons could easily be moved. All work will be completed in the spring of 2020.
