We fitted one of our working barges with a steel platform suitable for carrying a 70-tonne crane. The crane platform can move independently on a rail on the coaming of the hopper barge. The advantage of putting a crane on a hopper barge is that no quay or rig is needed for the transfer of materials. The steel crane platform and the rail were developed, produced, and assembled at the Baars shipyard.
