Brief history
In 1920, after having worked several years together with his father and brothers, Arie Baars Jr. decided to establish his own shipyard. During the subsequent years of crisis, the young shipbuilder found it necessary to build vessels at his own cost. This fleet, including hopper barges, elevator barges, and covered barges was subsequently leased or sold off. This formed the basis for A. Baars Exploitatie van Baggerma
